Masks for Arlington

The City of Arlington recommends that all citizens comply with the Snohomish Health District’s and the CDC’s recommendations to cover their faces while in public (during grocery shopping and other essential errands) during our Stay Home, Stay Healthy efforts to contain the COVID-19 coronavirus.

If you are unable to make your own face covers, you may pick up two per person (subject to availability) at the Arlington Community Food Bank at 19118 63rd Avenue in Arlington (near the airport and Arlington Fire Station 47). Please call for availability before you drive over.

Clients may pick up face masks during normal distribution days & times: Monday and Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Clients who want only face masks (not picking up food) must still line up with other clients, but upon reaching the parking attendant, can simply request face masks.

Meals 'til Monday Program

Meals 'til Monday is a supplemental food program for students Pre-K to 12 in the Arlington School District. The program provides supplemental meal packs to students who may not otherwise have access to food resources during non-school days. 1 in 5 children in Western Washington suffer from food insecurity. 37% of students in the Arlington School District qualify for free or reduced lunch. In addition, our district has 237 students registered in the McKinney-Vento Program (a homeless child or youth who lacks a fixed, regular or adequate nighttime residence). The Arlington School District identifies kids at risk, the food bank prepares and distributes food bags weekly to each school for the child to easily assemble into healthy meals at home.

Meals 'til Monday (M2M) Weekend Program EXPANDED in response to COVID-19 and Arlington School District's closure through April 24th. Student's can pickup a full weeks-pack at the food bank. The food bank will be providing all services, our facility, itself, will be closed to the public. Packs will be available during regular food bank distribution hours. In addition, M2M participants may pickup packs: Mondays 9:00am-11:00am; Wednesdays 2:00pm-5:00pm; Fridays 9:00am-11:00am. (Note: Regular food bank shopping services will not be available at these times.) Students/parents are asked to come to the designated pickup area and a volunteer will hand them a pack.

Donating food to the Arlington Community Food Bank couldn't be easier! A Simple Gesture is a program that makes it easy to donate food to help your neighbors in need. Using a (provided) reusable grocery bag, every time you go to the store, pick up a few items to fill  your bag with non-perishable food or personal care items. Every other month, drop it off at any one of the many participating businesses in our community in exchange for a new refillable bag. It really is that simple!

If only 10% of local residents donate an extra non-perishable food item through A Simple Gesture each time they shop for groceries, we have the potential to provide 150,000 additional pounds of food to our neighbors in need each year. This will allow the food bank to use precious monetary donations to purchase other items in demand such as fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy products.

All donations are tax deductible.
